A penny for your thoughts

You have almost made it through your first semester of college and survived this collaborative studies experience. What did you like best and least about our time together in UNV 1010, WRT 1010 and BIO 1030?
Please respond to this final post by Monday, Dec. 11. This is worth 1 point.

  1. I liked the opportunity to get to get to know and befriend the other students who attend these classes, as we for the most part have the same three classes together. In addition, the activities that we did as a class were enjoyable such as the Maybury park project.
I felt as though the discussion was an excellent way to tie up the class as it culminated in a multilateral discussion with all three professors from the UNV, WRT, and BIO classes present. However, I believe that there could have been more opportunities to perform collaborative tasks similar to the discussion assignment. as we only did two. And in these collaborative assignments, I would prefer a stronger emphases on individual responsibility and achievement.
Overall, I found the classes to be sufficient in completing their intent.

  2. I think that this was a great experience because I've never had the chance to stay with almost the same exact people for all my classes. I think this helped me get to know them and get close with them and make new friends. I think this was also a great experience because it made me focus on my classes more and have people to talk to about the classes, and the homework because during my day i at least saw one person from my one of the collaborative study classes and could ask about homework and other things.

  3. The collaborative learning experience this semester was very exciting. It's been fun to get to know each and every person in the classes. What I liked most was how small our classes were because it was easy to remember everyone's name and easy to laugh and make jokes with them. I think through our UNV 1010 class we learned enough about one another and even our professor, Peter as well as our student assistant, Devin. Overall I think it's been a very fun experience and since I won't be continuing on with my bio major, I'll miss the fun times we've had in class!! But I appreciate getting to know everyone in a different, special way.

  4. I think the collaborative studies group was great because I really got to know my classmates throughout the semester. It was nice having a smaller class size and actually getting to know my professors and not just being a name or number. It was also nice having classes with people of the same major and interests. It was great having a smaller class because when we had an assignment, there would always be someone you could ask for help if you had a question.

  6. I enjoyed the collaborative learning experience. I liked getting to know each and every individual in the cluster. I liked having a small class because I was able to get to know my professors. The smaller classes also made it easy to ask a classmate for help on a assignment and/or collaborate on an assignment.

  7. I really enjoyed the collaborative learning classes. I think it was a great way to help kids make friends and transfer into college with less stress. Being in a class with other people that have the same major really helps with school work and finding people with the same interests as you. I really liked spending time with the people in all of the same classes and making new friends, this is made it possible to always get help when I needed it and talk about class with my peers.

  8. I really liked the collaborative studies experience. It gave us the chance to get to know each other because of UNV 1010. It was nice having everyone in WRT 1010 and BIO 1030 because we had familiar faces in each class and it made transitioning into college easier. It was also very personal because we were such a small class, it seems like we bonded well for the most part. It was also nice to be able to get help on homework because we had similar schedules. I don’t think I had any problems with the collaborative studies.

  9. I enjoyed the time I spent between these three classes. It was nice being with the same group of people in each class for I got to know everyone very well. This also made the transition from high school to college much easier. Being surround by friendly faces in every class made it a whole lot easier to open up and talk to new people. For the duration we spent together as a group there was nothing I disliked.

  10. Over the last sixteen weeks I enjoyed the experience I had from the collaborative studies. I didn't know how I'd feel about having the same group of people in each class; however, I enjoyed it and it helped me get to know my classmates very well. For me, it also made the transition from high school to college very easy because I was much more comfortable each day with the one's around me. Throughout the class time there was nothing I can say I truly disliked.
