Many of you will be voting for the first time this year. Take this quiz to determine which way you lean. Did this reinforce your opinion? Anything surprise you? How do you compare with others? Respond by Monday, Oct. 30.
I learned that I lean more towards what they called Solid Liberals, along with 15% of the public. From what I read a Solid Liberal seems to define me verily well when it comes to my political standings. This would include my "unflagging" support of Barack Obama. My general optimism of the nations future, and the belief that success of America is dependent on our ability to adapt or change. It also mentions that on foreign policies Solid Liberals believe that good diplomacy, rather than military strength, will more than likely ensure peace. I found when comparing that 88% of Social Liberals would prefer a democratic candidate over a republican. Which was more than any other group on the list. So in conclusion this did ensure my opinion and nothing really surprised me after I read about the definition.
This test showed me exactly what I thought it would show me. The test showed me that I was a young outsider. The young outsider is one that is almost right in the middle of both parties, and it showed me that I think some topics should be more liberal but then other topics are more conservative. Finally I found out that I was considered in the same group as 13% of the people that took the test. So all this test did was show me that I was in the middle of the spectrum of politics and don't really agree with either side more then the other.
This test surprised me with its results. It showed that I was a Next Generation Left, which meant that I favored liberal views but would not consider myself a strong Democratic. Next Generation Lefts make up about 12% of the population and I am closer to the "Mixed" part of the spectrum of liberals and conservatives. Before this, I had considered myself to be more conservative, however, I know that I am not very familiar with the politics and the ideals that both sides value and support. I believed I was more conservative mainly because of some religious beliefs such as being pro-life and holding traditional family values. Now that I am more informed, I realize that I share the same views on foreign policy and U.S. involvement, environmental responsibility, and government involvement in businesses as liberals.
They called me a hard-pressed skeptic with 13% of the country. I am definitely with Obama that's for sure. I know that i answered all those questions truthfully so i think our next president should be a hard pressed skeptic cause evidently they know what there talking about .
This test was not surprising because I have taken a test like this before and I kind of figured I would have the same results since my mind has not changed on some of these subjects. This test showed that I made up 12% of the population being Steadfast Conservative. This means that the "Republicans hold very conservative attitudes on most issues, including social policy and the size and scope of government." Then it stated that I express highly "negative attitudes towards immigrants and take a skeptical view over U.S global involvement." I realized when they showed me the results of people who have taken this test that we agree almost on all of the topics which also surprised me. They told me that I was 5% for Obama and 85% for Romney which would have been true if I voted in 2012.
After taking the test, I was given the label "Country First Conservatives" along with 6% of test takers. Nothing surprised me, the results are as expected, I am aware that I hold conservative and traditional values, though I am deeply unsatisfied with the state of the right in this country, namely the cucked Republican party who have failed at conserving literally anything in the last 163 years. I would personally describe myself as a right-wing libertarian though, not a "country first conservative".
This test wasn't surprising to me at all. I knew most of my beliefs stood with the conservative side before taking this test. I had taken tests like this before and I got similar results as well. This didn't reinforce my opinion because it was just a test. I answered truthfully and because of that the results didn't effect me at all. I stood with 13% of the population which was lower than I expected. Overall I don't think my beliefs will change because of this test but it was interesting seeing the statistics of the other people who took it.
I've taken several similar tests before, so the results were not surprising. My results depicted me as an opportunity Democrat. I stood with 12% of the population which is higher than I thought. It also did not change my opinion on anything.
The test said that my best fit was a disaffected democrat. This group makes up about 14% of the public. The group mostly identifies with or leans towards the Democratic Party. This was a bit surprising because I thought that I was kind of in the middle of the political spectrum. I always thought that I didn’t side with either party more. However, reading through the description of the disaffected democrat, I realized that I do agree with a lot of the points it brings up about the American Dream and the economy.
My results from the test listed me as an opportunity democrat meaning I tend to agree with the liberal view on almost all issues. 12% of american's share this type of political view with myself. This result doesn't surprise me at all because I have sided with democrats on most if not all issues and tend to describe myself as liberal. I was actually surprised that more people didn't share my viewpoint as political views have tended to stray towards stronger views rather than moderate views. I thought that this change in political views would end up putting more democrats near left end of the spectrum giving those groups a larger part of the population.
After taking the test, my results came back as "New Era Enterprisers". This group agrees with 11% of the population. It is right in the middle of the spectrum. When taking the test I wasn't sure what to expect. I never had any strong political views, but I figured I leaned towards republican because of my parents views.
After taking the tests my results came back as "Disaffected Democrat." When I read what it meant to be considered this kind of democrat I sort of disagreed with what they were saying. I feel like they were trying to make it seem like I came from a background that struggled to make ends meet which is why I answered the way I did, but I didn't. However, I do feel as though the government needs to come up with better ways to keep people off of the streets. Sometimes young children are exposed to the street life and that makes them idolize the wrong things. This could be because they have a mother or father or whomever they are raised by that could be involved a lot in the streets and since that is what their surroundings are they choose to feel more comfortable there. I think the government needs to focus more on the people instead of foreign interactions, because at the end of the day the government is who we look to when something is wrong.
After taking this test my results came out to be "Disaffected Democrat." I did not fully agree with my results because some of the opinions it says i have are not exactly what I would really think of the government. The one thing it said i strongly feel towards is helping the needy/poor which is very true. I feel as if the government needs to go that extra mile in helping and giving a little more to help them get back on their feet, its almost like you can not ever get ahead in the world.
After taking the test, my results showed that I stood with 12% of the population, as I am a "Steadfast Conservative." To me that was no surprise, I have taken tests like this before and have received very similar results. The test didn't alter my opinion in any way; however, it is interesting to see how the rest of the class stands.
